Internet is spotty in the Baltics. I have 4-5 posts ready to go as soon as I get a solid connection but until then, know I am safe and heading to Latvia.

I don’t know when they’re coming, but expect a couple of special edition blogs – one on my shadow self portraits and one on the different types of bathrooms I’ve encountered over here.

For those of you who have been worried, I am alive and well in Vienna. There will be posts aplenty soon. Sorry for any worry.

Somehow, I have internet in my room and I was just woken up by the sound of thunder…

I leave the country for three weeks and George Carlin dies? Rest in Peace Mr. Carlin, may you get to say the words you’ve always said and may there be people there to hear them.

I apologize for the bad pun, but that was just ONE of the cheesy T-shirt sayings I say today in my walk around town. Also, let me state for the record, I’ve been in town for about 5 1/2 hours now and Praha certainly lives up to it’s reputation! I’ll have a full report a little later, but suffice to say I’ve gotten more culture so far here than anywhere else since I’ve left Malmo… and that includes the Erotica Museum!

Anyway, I’m here and safe. Here until Friday and tomorrow I’m gonna take a big guided overview tour.

The complete story, including the first couple of days in Berlin, will be told tomorrow or the next day, I promise, but for now, I’m stuck in Paris, train booked for tomorrow night so I’m going to experience more of this great city and head back to Berlin on Thursday morning.

Well… It seems you can’t buy a bus ticket where the bus picks you up. Of course, by the time I discovered this, the agents office was closed. So I’m stuck in Copenhagen for the night and will be taking a train out at 7:45 in the morning. I’m in a hostel so it’s all good (although I was thinking about just sleeping at the train station but decided against it this early in the adventure.

This doesn’t change anything, still in Berlin tomorrow. Did have a wonderful day so far in Copenhagen and will write more about that soon.

It was a lazy Sunday… essentially, I haven’t been sleeping well – I go to bed late, waking up every couple hours and then sleeping later than I would like. So today seemed to be a day of catch up. Malin had stuff to do so I ended up hanging out trying to read. I kept falling asleep! I just woke up, put on my PJs and figured I would updtae a little before trying to sleep through the night.

And then today, we actually went to the waterfront to see the Turning Torso up close. It’s an amazing structure, built around a central cylinder but twists 90 degrees from top to bottom. It looks like it’s leaning but it’s not.

Then we had lunch with Charlie, a street performer and old friend of Malin’s. Really great guy, funny and smart.

On our way back, we stopped at a hardware store and I found this:
